We support our family farms with much enthusiasm, as we at AVA feel that caring for and preserving our land is the key to the future for all of us. We believe that there is much to learn from this sustainable way of life ~and fortunately our local farmers are eager to share their knowledge. It is our pleasure to highlight those activities which support our local economy and our environment, such as weekly tailgate and farmers markets loaded with locally grown organic foods and handcrafted goods, exciting earth friendly workshops and handcrafted creations, adventurous activities based in nature appreciation, and farm education with 'Farm Stays'.

We are also members of Riverlink -an organization that hosts river clean ups throughout the year. We have adopted section 9 of the French Broad River and are committed to its cleanliness.
